Looking for an authentic cultural experience in Kerala?
From June 22 to 26, Margi Theatre in Fort, Thiruvananthapuram, will host a series of free performances showcasing some of Kerala's oldest and most celebrated performing arts.
The programme includes Kathakali, Chakyarkoothu, and Nangyarkoothu, along with a special memorial event honouring legendary theatre master D. Appukuttan Nair.
🎭 Kathakali is Kerala's iconic classical dance-drama, famous for elaborate makeup, colourful costumes, and expressive storytelling.
🎭 Chakyarkoothu is an ancient solo theatrical performance blending storytelling, humour, philosophy, and improvisation.
🎭 Nangyarkoothu is a rare classical temple theatre tradition traditionally performed by women.
Admission to all performances is free.
