💃 International Dance Festival 2026 in Kovalam: Two Evenings of Dance
💃 Two evenings of dance at Kerala Arts & Crafts Village
On 7 and 8 November, Kerala Arts & Crafts Village in Kovalam hosts the International Dance Festival 2026, bringing together classical Indian, folk and contemporary dance traditions over two evenings.
The programme includes Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, semi-classical and Western dance, making it a great opportunity to experience several very different styles in one festival.
Among the announced performances:
🎭 7 November - Kathakali: Kalyana Sougandhikam A traditional Kathakali production featuring elaborate costumes, distinctive make-up, expressive facial acting and the rich language of classical hand gestures.
💃 8 November - Bharatanatyam Solo A solo performance by Neelambari Varma V A, presenting one of India’s oldest classical dance traditions.
Kerala Arts & Crafts Village is located in Vellar, just outside Kovalam. It is a large cultural complex dedicated to Kerala’s traditional crafts, visual arts and performing arts.
The village includes artisan workshops, exhibition areas and spaces for concerts and cultural festivals. It is worth arriving a little early and combining the festival with a walk around the Arts & Crafts Village itself.
