🧑🩰Navranga Dandiya Night in Kovalam: dance, music and festive India
Navranga Dandiya Night in Kovalam brings a colourful evening of Dandiya and Garba to Kerala Arts & Crafts Village on 17 October.
Dandiya and Garba are traditional dances closely associated with Navratri. Dandiya is danced with colourful sticks, while Garba is based around rhythmic group movement. You do not need to be an experienced dancer — the event is designed for newcomers as well.
The programme also includes North Indian food stalls, mehendi, face art, photo spots, traditional games and other activities. Dandiya sticks are provided free of charge.
The venue is also worth seeing in its own right: Kerala Arts & Crafts Village in Vellar, near Kovalam, is a large cultural space dedicated to Kerala's crafts, art and artisan traditions.
