From September 20 to 23, Margi Theatre Thiruvananthapuram presents four evenings of Kerala's traditional performing arts - from intimate Chakkiyarkoothu and Nangiarkoothu to the spectacular world of Kathakali.

Margi is one of Thiruvananthapuram's established centres dedicated to preserving and teaching Kerala's classical theatre traditions, particularly Kathakali and Koodiyattam.

🎭 September 20, 6:00 PM - Chakkiyarkoothu: Kiratham A traditional solo theatre form combining storytelling, expressive gestures, mime and satire.Lead performer: Margi Sajeev Narayana Chakkiyar.

💃 September 21, 6:00 PM - Nangiarkoothu: Sreekrishnacharitham - Balaleela A female solo performance tradition known for highly expressive facial acting and an elaborate language of gestures.Lead performer: Margi Anjana S.

🎨 September 22, 5:30 PM - Kathakali: Subhadraharanam, Part 1 Kathakali is Kerala's iconic dance-drama tradition, famous for elaborate makeup and costumes, music and expressive gestures.Featuring Kalamandalam Vishnumon, Margi Bhadra and others.

September 23, 5:30 PM - Arangettam Arangettam is the traditional first public stage performance marking an important milestone in an artist's training.Featuring Kumari Sayanthana RJ and Kumari Abhirami S.
